Ichigo Ichie Summer

Uniting the in-the-moment theater of teppanyaki cuisine with the central spirit of the tea ceremony—that every gathering is a unique, once-in-a-lifetime experience shared by the host and guests.


We are pleased to introduce ‘Ichigo Ichie,' a sumptuous late afternoon teppanyaki feast served with select teas in surprising ways. The tea ceremony teaches us to approach each shared occasion and encounter as something singular that will never be experienced in quite the same way again. With this mindset our days are deepened and always kept fresh. Join us at Hinokizaka for just such a unique culinary journey.

Nutrient-rich eel has been favored for centuries in Japan as means to restore one's energy at the peak of summer's heat. Chef Hisao Ishida has selected tender wild eel for classic shirayaki-and kabayaki-style dishes that he'll serve at lunch and dinner. Try your favorite along with eel liver soup for extra stamina.
