Beginning September 16, 2025, The Ritz-Carlton presents FLAVORS IN TRANSIT, a culinary journey campaign inspired by Japan’s beloved ekiben culture. Reimagined as a contemporary luxury dining experience, six Ritz-Carlton properties across Japan—Nikko, Tokyo, Kyoto, Osaka, Fukuoka, and Okinawa
—celebrate their regions through courses, afternoon teas, and interactive workshops that highlight local ingredients, traditions, and stories. Embark on a journey of flavors that awaken the senses and evoke the spirit of travel.

Memories from My Childhood – Teppanyaki Afternoon Tea

At The Ritz-Carlton, Tokyo, Executive Teppanyaki Chef Yuki Oe introduces a new Teppanyaki Afternoon Tea inspired by his childhood memories. The experience begins with a course reminiscent of the handmade bento his grandmother prepared for family journeys from Kochi to Tokyo

—a dish that transcends an appetizer to serve as a prologue to the entire afternoon tea.

Each creation reflects the landscapes and flavors encountered along those travels, interwoven with personal memories of family and place. The Teppanyaki Afternoon Tea unfolds as a modern interpretation of tea kaiseki, pairing meticulously selected premium teas with teppanyaki artistry, where both savory and sweet courses are prepared before your eyes.
